Titan Regiment Marching Band

The Marching Band is the most visual component of the Discovery High School Band. The Marching Band serves two important functions at Discovery High School. First, we represent the school at multiple functions per year, including all Varsity Football games, Pep Rallies and Parades.

In addition, the Marching band prepares an 8 to 10 minute competition show that is performed approximately 15 times a year at football games, competitions, and exhibitions. The Marching Band includes all instrumentalists and students in the Color Guard program.

1. Band Camp is mandatory for marching band participants.

2. Students in Marching Band (except Colorguard) must be enrolled in a Discovery High School Band Class.

Fall Rehearsal Dates

Marching Band is on "active duty" from the start of band camp through the first 12-14 weeks of the school year. Our rehearsal schedule is below. Please see the calendar for more details.

• Until 9/22: Mondays 3:00-4:30pm Music Rehearsals

• Whole Season: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00-5:30pm

Attendance commitment

The success of the Titan Regiment depends entirely on consistent student attendance. All dates are required for the entirety of the season. We have very strict attendance policies which help to keep the quality of our band and performances at a high level. Students must attend all dates listed above, regardless of circumstance. financial commitment

The Discovery Band Boosters provides the main funding source for the DHS Band programs. An incredible amount of money is needed to operate a successful program. The expected annual financial contribution is as-follows:

• Concert only (people who are not in marching band): $100

• Marching Band Members: $350

  • Suggested Payment Plans:

    • Pay in full by July 14th

    • 4-Payment Plan:

      • $100 due July 14th

      • $100 due August 4th

      • $75 due September 2nd

      • $75 due October 6th

Additional Expenses

• GCPS Instrument Rental Fee: $30 (half-year), $60 (full year)

• Marching Shoes $35 (for 1st-year marchers and those who need new ones)
